The tablet and mobile versions of your site will look slightly different to the laptop version but still include your important features.
  • What is a 'Google Map location' and why is it a good idea?
    For businesses that have a physical outlet such as a shop or a stall, Google Maps location provides visitors to your site with an accurate location and built-in directions to make their way to your premises. Opening hours are included in the Google Maps add-on.

  • Why is SEO analysis so important?
    SEO stands for 'Search Engine Optimisation' and the ever-growing importance of it can greatly impact your site. It provides crucial insights into how well a website is performing in search engine results. This analysis will help identify areas for improvement which increases visibility of your site, pushing it further to the top of the search results. This in turn enables more potential customers to access your site. By selecting this in your package we will analyse your site on a monthly basis (one hour slot) and action the points required to drive traffic to your site.
  • Upon completion, how do I take control of the site?
    When your purchase a product through First Step Media, we send you an email with step-by-step, easy to follow instructions on the process - including your account details and a full 'guide' on how to maintain and operate your site. If you still find this difficult to follow we can meet face to face or via Zoom and we can talk you through it all as you do it.
  • Is there after-sale support?
    Yes! We offer an additional service where we are available via appointment to see to your needs. This does incur an additional cost for each appointment which is charged before the appointment begins. To book a support appointment, please message us on www.firststepmedia.co.uk with the issues you would like addressing.
  • Is the price I see the only price I pay?
    The price we advertise our packages at are the cost of First Step Media building your website - the 'labour cost'. There is an additional monthly cost upon transferring your website to your ownership. This payment is NOT to First Step Media but to the platform we use to build the site for them to host your site. This ranges between £9-14 p/m. 1. Site without a shop feature: £9 p/m. This covers your web hosting, design rights, unlimited bandwidth and security certificates. 2. Site with shop feature (eCommerce): £14 p/m This covers your web hosting, design rights, unlimited bandwidth, security certificates, shop facilities and payment security. This also includes the ability to sell on marketplaces and social channels, charge deposits for services, have the ability to list 50,000 products, dropshipping by Modalyst and booking channels.
  • Will it cost me more to sell on my site?
    Yes. To connect a shop to your site, with secure payment services and high level security measures, the monthly cost of your website is higher than if that function was not there.
  • What payment method do you accept?
    Payment is via credit or debit card - all major cards are accepted.
